I am water

During a workshop, we explored the qualities of the Chinese elements (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood). I was water and here is the poetic harvest of what I experienced. Reading the poem brings me back to the depth, safety and calm I felt at the time.

I am water

I am water
and I carry both the dead and the living.

I am water
and I give space to both fear and trust.

I am water
and I will always be a part of you.

I am water
and I can hold you forever.

I am water
and I welcome you to stay for a while.

I am water
and you can choose how you want to float.

I am water
and I wait for the life that I know is coming.
